When Paula Amelia Moynahan articulated her intention to become a doctor at an early age, less than 10% of medical practitioners in the United States were women. Dr. Moynahan cannot recall a time, while raised in an Irish-Italian home in Waterbury, Connecticut, full of old-fashioned values, that she ever considered another profession. Honor, respect, compassion, duty, and responsibility became the foundation for the child to build a bright future as a pioneer plastic and reconstructive surgeon.

“Doctor Moynahan attended Notre Dame Academy and Sacred Heart High School in Waterbury, CT. Subsequently, she graduated from the College of Mount Saint Vincent, where she majored in chemistry with a minor in biology. Entrance into The Woman’s Medical College of Pennsylvania ensued. Upon earning her degree as a Doctor of Medicine, there were seven intensive years of post-graduate education and training at the prestigious Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. Certification by the ABS, ABPS followed.

Dr. Moynahan remains unfazed even now in the world of the mega-stars who beat a path to her door. “My patients include many prominent people, but when it comes to the doctor/patient relationship, each individual is special.” I cherish the privilege and am careful never to lose sight of my serious responsibilities.”

Doctor Moynahan has committed to the specialization of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, recognizing this specialty’s uniqueness. It stands separate from all other specialties. By enhancing the appearance of the face and improving the body’s look, there is a profound and positive effect on the mind. Self-esteem is enhanced, confidence builds, and improved quality of life results.

To optimize her patients’ results, Dr. Moynahan developed a unique proprietary skin treatment line in 1984, updated continuously with every scientific advancement in skincare. The line consists of clinically Pharmaceutical formulated cleansers, toners, moisturizers, and corrective treatments designed to treat different skin challenges and reverse the effects of “environmental wounding of the skin. Age spots, wrinkles, sagging, drooping, loss of facial contour and flattening are caused by the environment in which we live, love, work.”

This is the Mind-Body Connection.
