Lip Augmentation

Youthful lips should be lush, the lower lip being approximately 25% fuller than the upper. With aging, lips become thinner and in some patients, practically disappear.

The key components of the lips are addressed at the time correction begins. Many times the Cupid’s Bow alone is enhanced. Other individuals will seek fullness of both the upper and lower lips. The skin that surrounds the lips usually shows signs of aging. “Smoker’s lines” can appear even if you never smoked. The creation of an aesthetically ideal lip is possible. In the younger patient, the lips can be made fuller, in the more mature client fullness and correction of smoker’s lines are addressed.

An exaggerated lip that resembles a duck is to be avoided. Some unfortunate people are talked into procedures that worsen their looks. Over-fills are freakish, unnatural. Fillers, lasers and botox combine to correct these imperfections.

There is also the reverse of this condition. There are individuals whose genetics have contributed to very large lips. This has caused self –consciousness and inhibitions. The lips are not in balance with their other facial features. The disproportion destroys the symmetry of their faces. The lips can be made somewhat smaller without sacrificing their attractiveness.

An outpatient surgical procedure is performed under local anesthesia. Incisions are made on the inner part of the lips and scarring is negligible. Surgery is performed under local anesthesia as an outpatient.

The benefits of plastic surgery are more than physical.
